David Putnam has spent over thirty years as a public school teacher teaching English, Language Arts, and writing in Shelby, North Carolina. He is currently a teacher at Crest High School where he teaches tenth and eleventh grade English and AP Language and Composition. Over his career as a teacher, he has taught elementary, middle school, and high school and has taught college courses in creative writing, research, and secondary education. David spent almost fourteen years serving bi-vocationally as a youth minister, first at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shelby, NC and then at Boiling Springs, NC. He holds both a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from Gardner-Webb University. David enjoys writing fiction, and he also enjoys writing non-fiction essays. In addition to writing, he enjoys all kinds of music, classic cars, and cooking. He currently serves as a Deacon at Elizabeth Baptist Church where he also plays guitar in the praise band and continues work as a volunteer in the youth program. He is also the Church Historian and has a passion for helping others and guiding them to a relationship with Christ. He is a lifelong resident of Shelby, North Carolina and continues to live there today with his wife Jill and their son Carson
