Reseña del editor:
As the story opens, young Alexander Hamilton marches with the Continentals at Fort Lee, New Jersey. He is frustrated by being relegated to the end of the line and missing out on the action. He desperately wants to make a name for himself. His opportunity soon comes at the Raritan River when the vanguard of British infantry catches up to Washington’s army. Hamilton, and his cannons are the only defense line available to prevent the army from being destroyed. Successfully protecting the Continental army and allowing their escape with his rear-guard action, Hamilton attracts the attention of George Washington. The future President asks the twenty-year-old Hamilton to join his staff. Sent on one daring mission after another Hamilton’s stature grows, creating great political mistrust among his rivals. When ambition overtakes Hamilton, he threatens to overthrow Congress, which he sees as corrupt. Challenging a Congressman to a duel who views Hamilton as treasonous immigrant – his world nearly self-destructs. With the end of the American Revolution looming and his visions of his own glory fading, Hamilton becomes determined to leave Washington’s staff and return to the battlefield. Washington, the only man who can help him, does all in his power to deny him. One daring assignment remains, however, that will determine the outcome of the final battle and the entire war. It is at a place called Yorktown.
Biografía del autor:
Emmy® Nominated Motion Picture Director / Screenwriter / Author After spending 15 years in New York directing and technical directing some of the most widely viewed programs on network and cable television; Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Emeril Live, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, I followed my passion for history in 2005 and produced a series historical films including; Silent Wings, Lincoln and Lee, The Wereth Eleven and others. I am the winner of more than 25 writing and directing awards and am one of only a handful of directors whose work has screened in the Congress of the United States. Silent Wings debuted on Capitol Hill on the day of its release in 2007 and became the catalyst for New York Congresswoman, Carolyn McCarthy's, House sponsored, Joint Resolution honoring America's WWII glider pilots. I have been fortunate in my films to work with several Hollywood "name" collaborators. Hal Holbrook narrated Silent Wings, which featured Walter Cronkite and Andy Rooney. Civil War theatrical director, Ronald F. Maxwell, (Gettysburg, Gods & Generals) narrated my Lincoln and Lee at Antietam: The Cost of Freedom. Corey Reynolds (The Terminal, The Closer) narrated The Wereth Eleven and actor Dale Dye, Stephen Spielberg's Senior Military Advisor on Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers narrated the USS Franklin: Honor Restored, film in 2011. In 2008 I began writing screenplays and both my first two feature film screenplays HAMILTON and BLOOD BETRAYAL reached the finals in two separate screen writing competitions. "Hamilton" was declared an "Official Finalist" in the 2011 Hollywood Screenplay Contest and "Blood Betrayal" reached the semi-finals in the 27th Write Movies International Writing Contest out of thousands of entries. Blood Betrayal has now been adapted to a Kindle ebook novel. Recently one of the most personally gratifying honors I received was from the survivor's association of the WWII aircraft carrier, USS Franklin. They singled me out for Honorary Crew Membership aboard the most decorated vessel in US Naval history. USS Franklin Museum Association President, H. Prentice Baptiste, wrote, "We wish to extend to you, Robert Child, membership as a full fledged crew member of the USS Franklin for your work in setting the record straight of the heroic effort in saving one of the great ships of the U.S. Navy in World War II and your name will be permanently inscribed on the official crew roster."
