Lavender, Gardenias and Night-Time - Tapa blanda

This story takes you through the trials and endurance of a young African-American nurse in the 1960's to the 1990's. It tells about her own family who are traditional two-parent household, with seven children. With sheer determination and dreams of success, she is the only one who graduates from high school then pursues higher achievements through graduating from nursing school. Race never played a part in her transitions through life. Maybe, if one embraces discrimination, one will experience it. In that period of American history, racism was alive and well, yet some escaped unscathed as with our main character. Despite that, death and tragedy did find their way into her life. In the end, with a broken heart and over-coming the profound urge for revenge, she prevails and finds love and peace.
