This book provides a cursory history of the Scots race of people, a genealogy of the author's Sellers and Gilchrist families as well as 14 related families (including Dunn, Christian, Savage, Shipp, and Bankhead), and an autobiography of the author, Terry Sellers, Jr. The book contains 121 references, 135 illustrations, 60 tables, three appendices, and the extensive index has more than 2,200 names and 500 locations. Terry Sellers, Jr. was born in Quinton, Walker County, Alabama and grew up in nearby Cordova, Alabama, graduating from Cordova High School in 1956. In 1960-61, he graduated from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama with B.S. and M.S. degrees in Forestry / Wood Technology. He obtained his doctoral degree from the University of Tokyo in Japan.
