Who is David Davidson? David and Davidson are actually my father’s first and middle names, we share the same christian name. I chose David Davidson as a pen name in honour of my father to whom, although he died relatively young, I always felt very close. At the time of writing I am a forty-nine-year-old man with two adult sons and I have worked as a counsellor, psychotherapist and trainer for the last twenty years. I have been interested in spirituality and philosophy for as long as I can remember. My own particular development began when I was introduced to a remarkable deep-trance medium some fifteen years ago who channelled Joseph of Arimathea. Since then she has also started to channel the Prophet Elijah and Father Abraham of the old Testament.

The channel herself and these venerable spirits have been the guides and teachers who have helped me and many others towards a recognition of our own inner spiritual resources. Perhaps it has been their ability to remain silent at those points when I have been on the brink of some breakthrough or deeper understanding that has been the most difficult and rewarding part of this relationship. At the times when I have demanded the most in terms of explanations and support, they have become their most enigmatic, oblique and mysterious. In response I have become frustrated, angry and blaming; then suddenly I have understood, not by ingesting wisdom from some external source but by understanding it from within. As Malachi puts it, it is as if a door opens on some vast internal treasure house I hardly knew existed. I dare say that in this process they have trusted me far more than I have ever trusted them. Here are some of the little jewels that I have brought out from that treasure house. I hope you enjoy them.
