Both Dr. Waxberg and Dr. Madison worked at St. Joseph's Hospital in Stamford, Connecticut. The inscription reads: '11/27/81, To Marion and Bob Madison, with all my best wishes-- Joseph D. Waxberg.' Both the book and the dust jacket are in very good condition. You can see the red covers in the photos. They are exceptionally clean. They really don't have any wear that needs to be called out. Very good edges and corners. Clean page edges. The book is square. The spine is straight. The binding is very solid from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The interior of the book is in excellent condition. The pages are exceptionally clean. I'm not finding any instances of soiling. That includes the white inside covers and end papers. I'm not finding any creasing. There are no markings. No attachments. And with the exception of the authors signed inscription, no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket in the first few photos. It does have one small blending stain just off the front top edge. I don't see any other soiling. There are no tears. The corners are in very good shape. The flaps look very good, clean and free of wear. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all. It will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. In a frank, humorous account, a prominent psychiatrist recalls the details of his open-heart surgery and relates the difficulties in adjusting to life after the operation. 'Bypass includes practical diet and exercise guidelines, discussion of the sexual problems that often affect heart patients, advice on coping with the fear of death, and realistic case studies, based on Dr.Waxberg's experiences in counseling groups of bypass patients.'.
