A coherent sammelband of material by, and relating to, dissenting minister of Beresford Chapel Edward Andrews (fl.1820-1840). Notable works include his sermon occasioned by the collapse of the Brunswick Theatre, London; the playhouse, constructed to replace the destroyed Royalty Theatre, opened on February 28th 1828; a mere three days later the roof fell in, killing ten and prompting an editorial from Charles Dickens documenting the event. The collection also includes the first edition of Andrews' dramatisation of the passage concerning Naboth and his vineyard found within the first Book of Kings in the Hebrew Bible. The vineyard of Naboth, printed for private circulation, is scarce; with COPAC and OCLC recording copies at only four locations (BL, Cambridge, Cornell, and Covenant Theology Seminary). OCLC?.
