Book condition: very good, VERY SCARCE, first edition, beautifully half bound in leather and decorative paper, the journal of a cruise in the Mediterranean and Levant on board of the U. S. Frigate Constellation in the years 1829, 1830 and 1831, at the top of the title page to vol. II is the signature J. Fenimore Cooper which is not verified, both volumes show minor scuffing to perimeters, gilt lettering and decorations on spines intact, vol. I shows a split to the top 1/2 inch of both spine edges, the ffep is missing along with the top two inches of the title page and the top inch of the contents page, there is also a one inch chip off the outside edge of the title page, free of writing and intentional marks, bindings tight, 247 and 244 pages, 5 X 8 inches, * Postage for oversized and international shipping will be calculated by size and weight.
