The covers have general edge wear, dulling and fading to the spine lettering, solid binding, no foxing, no previous owner marks or writing on any pages. The colored frontispiece illustration is bright and without foxing which is somewhat uncommon for this book. The book measures 197mm tall x 128mm, and has 219 pages, colored frontispiece, b/w title vignette, 22 b/w in-text engravings, 1 smaller in-text vignette of a locket, 5 chapter heading vignettes.
