The Text Block is clean, textured white, straight and square, with no markings of any kind. The Binding is full green cloth with sunning to spine and perimeter of boards (as is usual with this title), title and author paste-ons to front board and spine, damp-stain to lower spine and bottoms of boards, all corners square, hinges intact, prior owner's signature to front free endpaper, and tiny bookseller's sticker and date (7/20/31) to rear endpaper. An historical novel set in 1697-1698 in the colony of New France, now Quebec, the main characters, a father and daughter, interact with historical figures such as Count de Frontenac, Bishop Laval and Bishop Saint-Vallier.
