(1788)+156 (with Glossary pp.139-150 and a Satire by 'Author Unknown); front pastedonw has heraldic plate of John Lunsdaine, Esq. of Lathallan, Motto: Beware in Time', this is in all volumes, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked, covers clean with slight bumping to extrems, small chip top spine, most of gilt-on red spine label missing, gilt missing on Vol.number panel, front has twisted thread borderline, as all other volumes; Vol. 2 (spine number)+ f/piece engraving+half-title (Morison's Scottish Poets, Third Edition)+t.p. 'Select Poems of Will.Dunbar Part First' (1788)+lviii (Life of Gavin Douglas+notes)+100 (Dunbar's poems with no addional t.p.and no indication of a 'Part Second'+t.p. of Allans Ramsay's 'The Gentle Shepherd a Scots Pastoral Comedy' (1788)+ 96 ( engr.plates ex-pagination); internally clean, tight and unmarked, covers very minimally rubbed, spine label missing and gilt loss to Vol.number; Vol.3. (2 blank fly leaves)+f/piece Fergusson portrait+half title (no volume number)+Fergusson t.p. 'Poems on Various Subjects. In Two Part', (1788)+viii (Memoir and 'Contents)+124+opening with facing engravings divided by tissue guard each headed 'Fergusson's Poems' and dated 1789+Morison's half-title+ Part Two t.p. (1789); internaly clean, tight and unmarked in excellent covers, very slight corner bumping, spine title label and black Volume label present, otherwise clean and unrubbed; Vols.4: 2 blank fly leaves, no half-title, engr.frontispience of Sir William Wallace(apaprent brown waterstain acroos bottom corner recto not affecting image) +t.p. (with tanned off-setting from f/piece) : 'The Metrical History of Sir William Wallace, Knight of Ellerslie by HENRY, commonly called BLIND HARRY, 1790+ second less extensive t.p.+Contents+Dedication page (bottom outer corner has slight loss)+pp.2-3 (Bibliographic note and errata)+4-23, account of author+1-138 (Lumsdaines sig. top p.1) tanning edges to inner sides of endpapers and blank fly-leaf edges, frontispiece very cosely triimed but no significant loss ('Society of Antiquaries' credit line at bottom shaved across bottom), otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked; covers excellent, clean with minimal corner bumping but Vol.label missing to spine, gilt borders are a slight variation on other vols; Vol.5: 2 fly leaves+engr.frontispiece with narrow strip of loss to outer edge+t.p. as Vol.I but Vol.II in title (1790)+171 (poem continues with Book VII, Lumsdaines' sig.top p.1 as Vol.4)+(12, Glossary)+ 2 blanks leaves; edge tanning to inner sides of end-papers and blanks, otherwise clean, tight and unmarked, covers as Vol.4 but Vol.number label present; covers of all volumes have the gilt lines down joints matching those on covers. A very attractive partial set, alas lacking the 3rd Blind Harry volume. Usually listed as individual volumes and these scarce. Douglas's forename is spelled Gawin on t.p. but Gavin on Vol.2 'Life'.
