Internally : tight, bright and clean with no markings or inscriptions and No Foxing either to pages or page block edges. 192pp + a great many unpaginated b/w reproductions of photographs. ('254 pages, including frontispiece and 60 pages of photogravure illustrations'). These cover the entire spectrum of his life at the time, from early childhood portraits of family through to intimate shots of Prince Charles and Princess Anne as young children, as well as wartime work, celebrities such as Picasso and Greta Garbo, & etc. Really, an extraordinary gallery of work. The priceclipped, superbly decorated dustwrapper, clearly designed by Beaton himself although apparently unacknowledged, is predominantly complete, bright and clean, albeit somewhat fragile, rubbed at edges and with some minor nibbles and losses. Now protected with clear, removable sleeve. Please see accompanying images.
