First edition hard back binding in publisher's original burgundy cloth covers, gilt title and author lettering to the spine and to the upper panel, brown paper end papers. 8vo. 7'' x 5''. Contains [xiv] 301 [ii] printed pages of text with photogravure portrait frontispiece of Sir Harry Burrard, 1 map, 1 fold-out plate, 2 double-page letter and signatures pages, 1 single-page letter, 2 fold-out illustrations, 8 monochrome illustrations, 1 town seal, all present and correct as listings, albeit plate J has been omitted and replaced with code letter A which is duplicated. Loosely enclosed are two invitation cards from the author, The Mayor of Lymington, inviting Edward Trigs? to accompany Members of the Town Council in their Official attendance at the Parish Church on the occasion of Her Majesty's Jubilee Thanksgiving Service, dated Lymington 22nd June 1881. The hand which has written the two invitation cards [Edward King one would assume as he is the Mayor] has also written in the book 'Edward Trigs, 93 High Street, Lymington, Hants, 1879.' One small splash mark to the centre of the spine, without any foxing or age tanning to the pages which are in Very Good clean condition. Member of the P.B.F.A. HAMPSHIRE (Hantescire).
