[1881, date from British Library]. First edition, second impression with inverted ''G'' in the title on the cover denoting second impression. Hardback, Fair. Cream cloth boards decorated in a green lattice pattern with red lettering to front. Cloth is frayed in places to edges, starting to come away from the board in bottom r.h. corner to front, with slight damage to top and base of spine. Covers are rubbed and age-discoloured, and bumped to corners. Binding intact but a bit loose, with webbing visible along the gutters. Green endpapers. Front pastedown with small seller's label of Le Liebre, Jersey. Ownership signature to fep, dated September 13, 1882. Some foxing and discolouration to early pages, but the page become whiter and cleaner through the book. 48pp., colour illustrations throughout.
