Hardcover. Two volumes. Octavo. 589pp.; 730pp. Rebound, simple cloth boards with leather spines, new endpapers, (one is creased and stained on edges). Thirteen total plates, including 2 folded engraved maps, (one has tear, but maps and fold-out views have been reinforced with linen backing, some small marginal tears, stains and wrinkling to edges), 5 folding plates, and six single page plates, one which is colored. Each plate has small ownership stamp. First plate, Mexico City, is trimmed closely and has some staining. Solid binding and linen reinforcement make this a very readable/ useable set. Appendix of documents include particulars of a journey from Altamira to Catorce, by Robert Phillips, an account of the province of Texas, by General Wavel, and notes on the state of Sonora and Cinaloa, by Colonel Bourne.
