Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. Apparent First Edition (NAP). 'Including eight views of Corfu reproduced from the original lithographs.' Includes a separate 'With the Compliments of Corfu Travel' slip of paper with 'By request of Mr. L. Durrell' typed at the bottom (see photo). You can see the covers in the photos. The front has two tiny spots. All the corners have creases. The creases can be seen at the corners of all the pages, far from the print. The book is solemnly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages throughout and nicely tight covers as well. The pages are exceptionally clean. I haven't found any soiling at all. That includes the white end papers. There are no markings in the book. No attachments of any kind. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere. 'Edward Lear first visited Corfu in 1848 and the island seems then to have made a deep impression on him. At all events, he returned in 1855, after further travels in Greece, Albania, Egypt and elsewhere, and for the next years Corfu was to provide him with the nearest he got to a winter base until, in 1870, he finally settled at San Remo.'.
