This is No. 491." 5 1/4 in. x 7 3/4 in., frontispiece is William Hogarth portrait sketch of Fielding, engraved by James Basire; xxi, typographic reproduction of the 1755 titlepage, 277 pp. + errata page. Titlepage with woodcut printer's mark of lion and anchor, with this design also used as a watermark in the paper. Vellum spine and sides, with titling, printer's mark in orange-red ink, gray paper-covered boards. Spine shows slight cocking, wear to cover corners, age-related tanning to endpaers, page margins.
