Richard Stockton (1888 - ) was a Lt. Col. in the US Army. He has written a comprehensive history on the nature, causes, and outcomes of numerous wars and much on the nature of pacifism in ten "Books" in this volume--the focus is on the United States but examples are drawn from history as well. Within this volume, the various "books" include: The Pacifist Errs Throughout History; The Cause of War; The Losing Fight for Peace; Fallicies of the Modern Pacifist; Lessons from Military History; Thrity Successive Presidents on National Defense; The Nature of Future War, Military Policty of the United States After the World War; A Correct Military Policy.; Summation. This book is in the publisher's original blue cloth covers with gilt spine and cover lettering. Contains an index and a bibliography in the rear. The front end paper, which is also the half-title page, has several tears, else there are no internal or external markings. The book has been read, and given its size, the binding is slightly loose, but the hinges are not cracked. There is light wear to the covers, but it is not significant. If it was issued with a dust jacket, it is not present (I don't think this book originally had a jacket). ; B&W Photos, Charts, Maps; 8vo, 8"- 9" tall; 806 pages. N° de ref. del artículo 20245
