First edition, limited to 1600 copies, of which this is #306. Condition is fair. Massive volume, 1273 pages plus an additional 200+ pages of illustrations, half leather over red pebbled boards, all edges gilt. Backstrip is missing, hinges badly cracked, binding is cracked in a couple of places. There is a water stain at the lower inside corner of the first 300 or so pages (visible in the fourth picture.the stain at the fore-edge affects only this illustration, the one at lower inside is fainter on text pages and disappears after the first few hundred pages). Generously with hundreds of engravings picturing key figures and locations that feature in Maine history. This is a binding copy. It is complete, including endpapers.
