History. First edition, Volume 1 dated 1794, map dated 1795, volume 2 dated 1796. LACKING ALL AQUATINT PLATES !! Full leather 19th century fine binding (not signed), gilt titles and decorations, dated on the spine heels, some minor scuffing, some shelf wear on the bottom edges, corners bumped. Interiors clean and tight, some very minor scattered foxing, marbled endpapers, fabric hinges. Map complete, double folding, one clean split at a center fold with a tape repair, another partial split at a fold. These volumes appear to have been re-bound without the plates, as there are no remaining tabs or page stubs, binding is tight, all edges gilt, very handsome.
