Fine in Very Good dust jacket with chips at extremities (especially head), a little tape reinforcement to verso of head, spine panel slightly sunned, rubbed back panel, unclipped with lower price written in marker on front flap. The second novel of Chicago by an African American writer who grew up there. He is most often remembered for his debut novel, Knock On Any Door, which inspired a 1949 film noir.
