Volume exhibits overall toning and fading to covers, with edgewear and rubbing, and toning inside with scattered staining. Light brown covers feature blind-tooled frame along edges, and displays fading along edges with some scattered staining to back. Boards display some edgewear from rubbing to spine ends and corners, which are also significantly bumped. Spine features text in gilt, partially altered by strong sunning of spine as well as two indentations going into text. Spine ends are rubbed with chips and cracking, and shoulder on front displays a black line. Binding is overall secure with a little play. Interior is mildly toned and exhibits scattered foxing and smudges throughout. Some pages display edgewear with corner creasing and small closed tears, as well as a publisher's overhang on one page. Front and back feps display some pencil notes. Page 73 has owner sigs marginalia. Textblock shows a persistent 3.5" crease in gutter from head. Hard to see in photo. Textblock edges are toned with some darkening to head and foot, and mild staining to fore edge.
