48pp + 48pp + 48pp + 8pp publisher's list (The Progressive Publishing Co). 7.4 inches. No dw. Brown buckram, black titles on spine, black line border and decorative motif on front. Slightly rubbed corners and spine extremities, sundry tiny marks, tiny dent to back. Internally faintly tanned and patchy endpapers, contents about as new, no owner's marks. Comprises 3 essays, The Darwinian Theory, The Origin of Man, Monkeys Apes Men, published in 1884, 1884, 1885. This volume the first to collect them. Oddly, although the first page tells us that Origin of Man is the sequel to Darwinian Theory, it is placed first in the book. Aveling with a background in Comparative Anatomy was an enthusiastic Darwinist, and freethinker, and after becoming Eleanor Marx's partner, was involved with the inner circle of British Socialism. 160g. Extremely scarce. (Biology, Evolution, Darwin) Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. N° de ref. del artículo C14838

Orders usually ship within 2 business days. Shipping rates are now based on 500g book, to be fairer in these days of steadily increasing postage prices, to buyers of average and smaller sized books; for heavier books we will Request Extra Shipping to the correct amount. Surface mail, now called International Economy, in fact usually takes longer than abebooks' guidelines and is now our last resort for really heavy books. It is not available for Europe in any case, and we have quoted it at the 1.5 kg weight, for Rest of the World. Similarly cost of a 2nd book is based on an increment of not more than 500g, and we will request Extra Shipping if a combined parcel will cost more.
