Offered is a signed, limited and numbered edition, of "Confessions of a Randian Cultist: An Open Letter to Ayn Rand Regarding the [Nathaniel] Branden Interview" written by Rosalie Nichols and published in March 1977 by Ms. Atlas Press out of San Jose, California. A first (and only) printing by Ms. Atlas Press, it was previously published in a run of 300 copies by Brian Eenigenburg, then editor and publisher of "New Capitalist Digest," in January 1972. A stapled pamphlet measuring nearly 5-1/2" by 8-1/2" and containing 32 pages including front and rear covers. It begins, "Dear Ayn Rand, This letter is an apology and a burning question. It will be rather long because there is a whole story that has to be told in order to draw a complete picture. It involves not just me but other of your admirers as well, I'm sure. Two things prompted this letter at this time. One is that I have been re-reading THE FOUNTAINHEAD. The other is that I have just read Nathaniel Branden's interview in the October issue of REASON magazine - not only the published version, but the transcript of the original interview, which is even more revealing of the deception Mr. Branden practiced in his relationship with you. I refer specifically to his concealment of negative attitudes toward you. Had you known of them, you could not have been as innocently vulnerable as you apparently were." The author ends her lengthy letter with: "Nathaniel Branden has claimed that you are his rejected lover. Over a year ago, the thought took form in my mind that WE are YOUR rejected lovers. Each of us has been slapped in the face; and although we are the most ardent lovers you could want, we would rather fight than fawn, if that is the choice. We are your intellectual offspring, your disinherited heirs - someday to be your orphans. You may not want us, but we WILL be your standard bearers. We will carry your ideas and the memory of your greatness into the twenty-first century and build for ourselves the world that YOU wanted." Signed by author to title page. Covers light to moderately sunned in places. N° de ref. del artículo 014998
