Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt titles, bruised top and tail. Joints good condition gently rubbed and worn. Corners good condition gently bumped and worn. Boards good condition original brown cloth boards with gilt titles and blind tooled border, both boards have bevelled edges, some marks to both front and rear. Page edges good condition top edge slightly darkened, fore and bottom edges tanned and foxed. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound, strained internally between vi and vii, and 8 and 9. Paste downs good condition plain. End papers good condition plain, internal free end papers are tanned and foxed. Title good condition lightly tanned with some foxing. Pages good condition b/w folding map frontispiece, 16 maps throughout, a further 3 of which are folding and all intact the last one with a repair to the fold, numerous other plates and illustrations within the text, pages are lightly tanned with minor foxing.
