Original blind-stamped green cloth, top edge gilt, gilt spine-title, folio, vii,175, xxxiv pp. 3363 lots. The highest price achieved was for Lot 2673, First Folio Edition of Shakespeare s Works, 1623, a perfect copy for £470. [Cummins: The library of the Third Earl of Gosford (1806-1864) was sold by private contact to James Toovey, the London Bookseller, who sold the French books in Paris in 1882 at auction, the Aldines by a special catalogue produced by Toovey and the remainder of this fine library in this sale. It included the extensive collections of Country Histories, Genealogies, natural history, Irish topography and history, drawings and engravings, the classics, a First Folio, the first volume of the Mazarine Bible, a fine collection of Large Paper copies, including "Robinson Crusoe" (1820); manuscripts, fine bindings and printings.
