The Buddha Of Suburbia, Hanif Kureishi, Faber and Faber, 1990, First Edition, First Impression Winner of the Whitbread Award for the best first novel and adapted into a four-part drama series by the BBC in 1993 with a sound track by David Bowie, this is the story, possibly autobiographical, of Karim, a mixed-race teenager, who is desperate to escape suburban South London and to have new experiences in London in the 1970s. This is a First Edition, First Impression in very good condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards are clean. There is some minor shelf wear to the top edge of the front board and to the bottom edge of the back board. The end paper and pages are free from marks, tears or inscriptions. There is tanning to the top, fore and bottom edges. The brightly coloured, unclipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover, is in near fine condition with no issues.
