Britwell Court Library - 20 auction sale catalogues in original wrappers comprising a near-complete set of those for the sale of the library of S. R. Christie-Miller [ Sotheby, Wilkinson & Hodge, 20 auction catalogues representing 18 sales, sale dates: various from 15 August 1916 to 25 July 1971 ].

20 volumes, original beige or green printed wrappers, small 4to or 8vo, various paginations, numerous plates, ills (some colour, some folding). A near-complete set including catalogues for 18 of the 19 principal sales of the Britwell Court Library of S. R. Christie-Miller, lacking only that for the second (anonymous) sale commencing 31 July 1917 (incunabula and XVI century books). Also omitted is the post-Final sale catalogue of 25 July 1927 ( this included 31 lots of Britwell Court "omitted books"). Included are the post-Final sale catalogue of 11 July 1927 ("unsold and imperfect books") and the 29th March 1971 catalogue offering items that had escaped the initial series of sales. Of those catalogues issued in both illustrated and unillustrated versions, ours are all illustrated save for catalogue [iii]. Generally Good copies typically with some edgewear to wrappers, some with a little spine-loss (more on [xvii], top edges spotted, some duststaining and marks but very largely clean internally.
