He was a prolific writer equally at home with British or American idioms. His series characters were Michael Grant, John Hopkins, Buddy Mustard, Brian O'Malle, Jack Pearson, The Remover, Brian Saville, Michael Wallace and Wu Fang, a Fu Manchu-style oriental villain".
