Original yellow paper wrappers with text and illustration printed in black, sewn as issued, with minor overall dusting and waviness, minute touches of wear to head and tail of spine, a gentle corner crease to upper fore edge corner of front wrapper and minute touches of wear to the lower edge of front wrapper for what is a beautiful copy of the book; list of publications of the American Anti-Slavery Society on pp. [2-4] of wrappers. 48 pp. Illustrated with 13 wood engravings within text and two vignettes, all printed in black, depicting the horrors of slavery and the violence by anti-abolitionists against the schools, printing establishments, etc. of those actively pursuing an end to slavery; includes information on eclipses, examples of notices of runaway slaves, arguments against slavery and accounts of slavery in British colonies; extremely bight and clean internally.
