Undated but possible first edition as the British Library states this title was first published in 1943 and this copy bears the 'War Economy Standard' mark. Book size - c. 7.25 x 5 inches, pp. b&w frontis + 255 + 3 plates, hardback in dustjacket. Book condition - Very Good ; contents clean, a little light foxing of the preliminaries but the textblock is clear, no inscriptions, inner hinges intact and binding firm ; publisher's blue cloth with title in black on the spine and front ; corners a little rubbed and lightly bent, boards edges good, back clean, back hinge good , spine complete with ends slighlty bent but not split, spine colour not faded and title is complete and clear, front clean with complete and clear title. Dustjacket - near Very Good ; a little rubbed at the corners, top and bottom edges not creased or nicked, back slightly dusty, spine complete with top end very slightly rubbed, spine not faded and title and colour illustration complete and very clear, front not marked and in very good condition, not price-clipped ( ' 5/- net ' ) ; dj. now in clear, removable wrapper.
