No 5 Bomber Group R.A.F., W.J. Lawrence, Faber and Faber, 1951, First Edition, First Impression Written by an officer who served at Bomber Command Headquarters from 1939 onwards, this book tells history of Number 5 Group of Bomber Command, from its earliest start as one of four Bomber Groups to its end as the striking force that became known for its highly individual tactics and a spirit of enterprise and experience that was all of its own. The book is illustrated with sixteen pages of photographs. In near fine condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean except for two very faint marks to the front board and the lettering on the spine bright. The end papers and pages are free from marks, tears and inscriptions. The clipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in good condition with nibbling to the top edge of the front cover, loss to the bottom edge of the front cover, loss to the top edge of the spine, and a darkened back cover.
