Averell, the Colonel of the Regiment at that time based on his Regimental Journal. Also Bvt.Lt.Col. Rawls describing The Second Cavalry Division in the Gettysburg Campaign. Other sections include additional reminiscences of Gettysburg and other operations and engagements to the end of the war. An excellent, detailed history of cavalry operations in the Eastern Theater, one of the best. Well illustrated, a comprehensive roster, and excellent maps.
