Signed and inscribed by author, USMC Major, Marine Corps naval aviator, and founder/Director of NICAP; the National Investigations Committee on Aerial Phenomena. Inscribed on the front endpaper: To my very good friend / ___ ___ / whose kindness and / generosity have played / an invaluable part / in NICAP's struggle / - and mine / With best regards / Don Keyhoe. Also laid-in is an original APRO (Aerial Phenomena Research Organization) membership card, with the membership name matching that of the inscription in the book. Vintage, original membership card has the old Route 1, Box 750 address, in, Ceres, California. That address has a line through it, with a new address typed in: 1712 Van Court, Alamogordo, New Mexico; for membership period ending 1 July, 1959; and signed by co-founder Coral Lorenzen. Book is tight; binding and hinges are strong and sound. Pages and endpapers are bright and clean. Blue cloth panels are bright and clean. Minimal shelf rubbing at tips. Rare, original DJ with manufacturer's $3.95 price intact on flap. Minor rubbing to DJ, with a minor faint scratch on front. The book chronicles NICAP's fight to crack the wall of secrecy surrounding the government's secret investigations into UFO's.
