POETRY BROADSIDE "32 BEAMS OF LIGHT." by DAVID MELTZER, with a tipped-on WOODCUT by JAMES HIBBARD. Published by the Yes! Press in an edition of only 100 copies in 1970, as stated in the colophon at the bottom of the sheet. The BROADSIDE is SIGNED by DAVID MELTZER above his printed name. The WOODCUT is SIGNED by JIM HIBBARD below the printed image, and hand dated 12/6/70. The BROADSIDE SHEET, including the tipped-on woodcut, is 9x13 inches. The woodcut is 5.25x5.75 inches and is tipped-on to the upper part of the broadside. GOOD condition, some creasing to the margins and corners, otherwise solid and bright. About DAVID MELTZER, Poet (from Wikipedia): ******David Meltzer, b.1937 d.2016, was an American poet and musician of the Beat Generation and San Francisco Renaissance. One of the key poets of the Beat generation, Meltzer was also a jazz guitarist, Kabbalist scholar, and the author of books of poetry and prose. Lawrence Ferlinghetti described him as one of the great post WWII San Francisco poets.****** About JAMES HIBBARD, Artist (from the Hallie Ford Museum of Art / Willamette University Museum website): ******Jim Hibbard, b.1936 d.2022, was an important Northwest artist who, after a 30-year career of exhibiting and teaching in Portland, established a new home and studio in Guanajuato, Mexico, where he continued to work productively almost until his death in 2022.
