Four colour paper folding maps from the Nigeria 1:500,000 series, each numbered individually, but all of them named "Nigeria", with the names in my title attributed by a previous owner. Although they are part of a larger series (the National Library of Australia records a set of 15), they are all adjacent to one another, with Sheets 2 and 3 on top (bordering with French West Africa), and 6 and 7 directly below, forming a continuous area. Each 81 x 74cm (except Sheet 7, 78 x 77cm). Scale 1:500,000 or 1.014 inches to 8 miles. S2 "Katsina" drawn and reproduced 1938, revised and reprinted Oct 1949 covers parts of Katsina and Sokoto. S3 "Kano" minor corrections 1947, reprinted Oct 1949 covers parts of Kano, Katagum, Bedde, Potiskum. S6 "Kaduna" drawn and reproduced 1944, reprinted Sept 1949 covers parts of Zaria, Niger, Kontagora and Abuja. S7 "Jos" drawn and reproduced 1939, revised and reprinted 1949 covers part of Bauchi. Features include boundaries, heaquarters, towns and villages by population size, forest reserves, landing grounds, various types of roads and tracks, railways (double, single, light, and under construction), posts, telegraphs, wireless etc. Generally good to very good with handwritten titles in ink to rectos and versos, general wear especially to edges of S7, and small hole to S6. Scarce. N° de ref. del artículo 3949
