24 single sided tipped on photographs. Undated circa 1870-80s, though some images may be earlier, as he was active from the 1860?s. Condition Original Hardback binding, orange and black, with overprinted gold design and ?Ricordo di Venezia? etc. with ?P. Salviati? and rubbed address rear, overall good with edge wear & wear to gold ink design & title front, rear gold ink design & photographers details with wear. Contents one page has mark to side, All photographs are Very Good, no inscriptions, blank endpages with ageing, pages are not flat, minor wavy, inside rear still has the label with Paolo Salviati Photographer details etc. in very good condition, first page has minor foxing to side not affecting photographs include. Large scale photographs, one to each thick page, images include a Gondola with Panoramic view of St. Mark's Square behind, St. Mark's Basilica, interior, St. Mark's Square, Doge's Palace, Panoramic view from high etc., there are no titles below photographs. Paolo Salviati 1818-1894 was a well respected with premises in Venice, most of his large format albums only hold about 12 photographs, this album has is rare one with 24 large photographs. This is a large album approx 28.8 x 38cm so if going outside the UK, will require extra shipping. We usually have other photograph albums including Italy & Rome on abebooks.
