3 1/2 inches x 5 1/2 in., design: "Der Landpfarrer", printed on a sheet of thick cream colored paper, with printed initial: ST; signed in pencil in lower right: Blesteiner [?]. The paper shows light, age-related tanning. From the personal collection of Swiss-born artist and designer, Fred Rentschler, who emigrated to America in the early 1920's, and later taught at the Cleveland [Ohio] School of Art. His collection contained examples of proofs & finished pieces of bookplates, new year's greetings, book illustrations, title-page designs, initial letters, etc. mainly produced by Swiss artists & designers, ca. 1917-22, including a few of his Swiss bookplate designs.
