Hardcover. Condición: Good. Loren Long Ilustrador. Format is approximately 9.125 inches by 12.125 inches. Minor flaw at rep and inside of back cover. Text is in Korean and English. Korean edition of OF THEE I SING: A Letter to My Daughters by Barack Obama, the forty-fourth president of the United States, introduces thirteen world famous Americans known for the most important valuable virtues that he sees in his daughters and in all the children. These individuals are: Georgia O'Keeffe, Albert Einstein, Jackie Robinson, Sitting Bull, Billie Holiday, Helen Keller, Maya Lin, Jane Addams, Martin Luther King, Jr., Neil Armstrong, Cesar Chavez, Abraham Lincoln, and George Washington. Loren Long (born 1964) is an American author of children's books best known for illustration. He won the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators' (SCBWI) Golden Kite Award for picture book illustration in 2004 for I Dream of Trains by Angela Johnson. His career began at Gibson Greeting Cards in Cincinnati, Ohio eventually moving on to freelance illustration which gave him national exposure for children's books illustrations. A Simon & Schuster executive saw his work for Miles' Song by Alice McGill and tapped him for the illustrations for I Dream of Trains by Angela Johnson. In 2005, he was a Golden Kite Award Honoree for his illustrations in When I Heard the Learn'd Astronomer by Walt Whitman. In 2010, he illustrated Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters by Barack Obama. When he was 12 years old, he learned that he was colorblind. In his work, he relies on strong lighting sources, color theory, and support from his family to overcome this obstacle. Of Thee I Sing: A Letter to My Daughters is a 2010 children's book by Barack Obama, with illustrations by Loren Long. It is described by the publisher as a "tribute to thirteen groundbreaking Americans and the ideals that have shaped our nation." The proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to a scholarship fund for the children of fallen and disabled US service personnel. Obama finished writing the book in 2008, after he was elected but before taking office. It subsequently had an edition published in South Korea. In this work, Barack Obama delivers a tender, beautiful letter to his daughters in this powerful picture book illustrated by award-winner Loren Long that's made to be treasured! In this poignant letter to his daughters, Barack Obama has written a moving tribute to thirteen groundbreaking Americans and the ideals that have shaped our nation.
