[Film Promotion] UK Double Crown poster with 'boxing style' typography, advertising a provincial cinema's programme of films, to be shown in July-August 1966. Two-colour printing on yellow stock. 30 x 20 inches. Rolled condition, with trivial edge wear. Near fine. A striking and unusual vintage British cinema poster (as opposed to a film poster), advertising forthcoming screenings. This provides an insightful look at how then-current and older movies were shown or replayed at a small-town theatre in the 1960s. Pictures include From Russia With Love (1963), plus an earlier film starring Shirley Eaton, who was subsequently cast opposite Sean Connery in Goldfinger (1964). A most unusual item of Bondiana which will be lacking in most 007 poster collections. From the comprehensive James Bond archive of Ian Fleming bibliographer Jon Gilbert, with accompanying provenance.
