The book is in clean sharp condition with no owner marks or writing on any pages (other than the climbers' signatures), some light brown small spotting very bottom edge covers, tiny bit of sunning very top edge of spine cloth, some tiny top-edge foxing spots, no page foxing, solid binding. The original dust jacket has no tears, no chips, clean, original printed price still present on flap corner. Account of the ascents by Bass to the apex of each continent (climbed Kosciusko instead of Carstensz Pyramid). Ridgeway & Wells didn't reach the top of Everest. This book was written entirely by Ridgeway with the approval & assistance of Bass & Wells. Bass was the first person to climb the "Seven Summits." Many other climbers were involved in this successful endeavor, several of whom have since completed the ascents of the seven summits. This is signed by Bass on a tipped-in poem on the front end-page, signed on the dedication page by David Breashears who climbed Everest with Bass (the book is dedicated to Breashears), signed by Rick Ridgeway on the title page, signed on the title page by Junko Tabei who was the first woman to climb the Seven Summits, signed on title page by Reinhold Messner who came close to being the first person up the seven summits but instead was more interested in becoming the first person up the 14 8000m peaks.
