H/B. Condición: Good. No Jacket. Alfred Bestall Ilustrador. First Edition. f/c illustrated + end papers of Rupert at fair/village fete. Followed by Book Belongs to + illus. of R with a gnome. Then title page : Rupert red lettering. Picture in coloured lettering & Story Book in blue. Underneath R is chasing a young boy in costume and a girl is watching from behind. Next page f/c frontis 'At length o'erjoyed, the Princess sees her home come into view. 'Rupert sat on a white horse behind a princess galloping through the woods. Gnome on a hare running beside them. Then title page for Ruper and the Enchanted Princess, followed by story. Then 'Rs Message to Father Xmas. Not dated believed 1952, dedication dated 1952. Rs Holiday Adventure. Unpaginated pages. Cover F/c illustrated paper on board red cloth spine. Illus depicts R with hiking books and stick near a sign post asking the way of a gnome on a hare. B/G yellow maize field and winding path to thatched cottage, hills in far b/g. Postage combined on multi items. Printed by LTA Robinson. Condition: Cloth spine worn + faded. Wear top/bottom spine, sides + corners. Boards showing on corners. Front illustration chipped near spine middle + bottom. Book belongs to filled in + dedication further down the page bottom right corner. Page slight tear top and bottom from binding. Frontis tear 8.5cm from bottom up seam. Picture not effected. Title page Enchanted Princess torn bottom seam across towards horses rear. Does not effect text over page & stops short of illustration. The small odd mark on pages. A few minor v small corner folds. An illust in the Holiday Adventure is torn from middle across to seam, all page there. First end paper missing so illus of Mrs Badger receiving fish from her son can only be seen. No publication/author/illustrator info found. Remainder pages clean, little wear, colours vibrant.
