Extremities a little rubbed.OCLC: 4616870. Rabbi ben Ezra is a poem by Robert Browning about Abraham ibn Ezra (1092-1167), one of the great poets, mathematicians and scholars of the 12th century. ILLUSTRATED BY BERNARD PARTRIDGE. The illustrations were influenced by the art nouveau style of Alma Tadema. The volume contains other poems 'James Lee's Wife'; 'Abt Vogler'; 'Apparent failure'. A near fine copy.

Written by Robert Browning, an English poet and playwright considered highly among the Victorian poets for his dramatic monologues, irony, characterization, social commentary, vocabulary, and syntax. Illustrated by Sir John Bernard Partridge, an English illustrator and well-known actor under the name of Bernard Gould. Bound in half crushed morocco with marbled boards. Externally, smart with rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd mark to the board. Minor loss to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with light age toning and the odd spot to the endpapers. Very Good. book.

First Edition with 12 illustrations by Bernard Partridge. NF/VG dustjacket. A beautifully bound cloth book with an art deco angel holding a lyre and standing chained to a mountain. The same image is repeated on the front panel of the dustjacket. The book is near fine, but the jacket has some heavy chipping along the top and bottom of the rear panel. The spine is also missing a 1" rectangular piece at the center edge. Still, it is a very scarce item in the original dustjacket. First Edition with 12 illustrations by Bernard Partridge.
