8 coloured plates & coloured title page vignette of an african lions head by Sir E Landseer. Being a record of deeds of daring & marvellous escapes by field & flood. Original heavily decorated red cloth with gilt & black illustrations & titles on the front & spine. All edges gilt. Spine just a touch sunned & very minor corner & top/base of spine wear. One gather of pages a little pulled out of alignment otherwise VG. Large prize plate "Ebenezer Adult School - West Bromwich, Easter 1882 on front pastedown, otherwise the book is undated.

Hardcover. Condición: Good. . with a description of the various countries of the world and their inhabitants.' Good conditin book. Minor shelfwear to extremities, the gilt inlay and page edges remain bright. The endpapers have been removed revealing webbing at rear hinge, the binding remains firm. Contents are bright and tidy throughout. A lovely piece of history. Good condition is defined as: a copy that has been read but remains in clean condition. All of the pages are intact and the cover is intact and the spine may show signs of wear. The book may have minor markings which are not specifically mentioned. All edges gilt. Handwritten gift inscription dated 31 st May 1892. Skilfully and strongly re-backed, with protective corner tips and new endpapers, retaining the original cloth.
