Light chipping and rubbing at edges, front joint cracking at spine on the exterior, but not coming loose. A very good copy of this fairly fragile work. Another of this authors quite critical looks at business, success and the successfull, in The United States. Sinclair, a very prolific author, went on to receive the Nobel Prize (1943) for Literature. Evidently originally self published as the title page says, Sinclair must have been testing his own capatalistic power in the book business. This novel went on to become the inspiration for the Daniel Day Lewis classic 2007 film "There will be Blood".
