Elegantly bound in full crimson morocco by Baytun-Riviere, with gilt titles, all edges gilt, combed marble endpapers, inner gilt dentelles, publisher's cloth bound in at rear. A fine copy, inside and out. The third novel featuring the Bastable children, following 'The Story of the Treasure Seekers' and 'The Wouldbegoods'. The Bastable books were a big influence on C.S. Lewis and Arthur Ransome, among others.
