Publicado por New York: Berkley Publishing Corporation / G. P. Putnam's Sons, distributors, (1977) dj, 1977
Librería: Bookfever, IOBA (Volk & Iiams), Ione, CA, Estados Unidos de America
Original o primera edición
Hardcover first edition - First printing. A fantasy novel with many autobiographical elements set in a very realistic San Franciso (where Leiber was living at the time). In his writing, Leiber was searching for the point at which technology and mystery, science and horror meet. In this short novel, he uses two imaginary works -'Megapolisomancy', a 'science of cities' by a fictional occultist Thibaut de Castries, and a early journal by horror writer Clark Ashton Smith who is depicted as a disciple of de Castries. Winner of the 1978 World Fantasy Award for best novel. Joint winner of the 1977 British Fantasy Award. Included in Cawthorn and Moorcock, 'Fantasy: The 100 Best Books' and Pringle, 'Modern Fantasy: The Hundred Best Novels.' 185 pp. Dust jacket by Richard Powers. Fine in a very near fine dust jacket (a lovely copy, appears unread, with just a tiny bit of wear at the top of the spine of the dj.).
