Hardcover. Condición: Good. No Jacket. The History of the United States Told in One Syllable Words was written by Miss Josephine Pollard and is illustrated throughout with older colored illustrations. The book was published by McLoughlin Brothers, Publishers, perhaps, around 1900 and there's an inscription that dates the book to Christmas of 1909. It also has that look. It's not an ex-library copy, has no dust jacket, and is only in good condition. The pages are yellowing, and the spine was loose . . . so I inserted some glue to help with the reinforcement. The book is 8" by 9 3/4" and has 136 pages with a Table of Contents and some color plates. I might also add that Miss Pollard sometimes "cheats" with her one-syllable words. For example Queen Isabella is given as Queen Is-a-bel-la. None-the-less it's a neat piece of Americana. Thank you!.
