The two novels were first published in the UK separately by Sidgwick and Jackson in 1953 and 1954 respectively. Originally published in the US by Shasta in 1950 and 1952. There is a little bumping to the bottom corners of the boards and some browning to the spine. There is a little browning to the page edges. Name in pen and a trace of a price in pencil to the top corner of the front free endpaper but the pages are otherwise clean and unmarked. The jacket has a chipping at the top and bottom of the spine which has quite a bit of browning and the volume number is written in pen. The top edge of the rear panel is a little ragged and there is some chipping at the corners but otherwise unmarked. Jacket design by Cecil W. Bacon.
