The second English comedy in verse (rhymed long doggerel) attributed to Dr. John Still. ppXVI,75,(1) with decorated title-page, facsimiles of the original 16th century title-page and printer's device, and facsimile of title-page of Ingelend's "The Disobedient Child" of 1560. Plain card wrappers. Light creases across lower outer corner of rear wrapper. Printed paper overwrapper lightly toned & handling-marked, with light creases at rear panel as at rear wrapper; backstrip panel a little rubbed, a little chipped at head and slightly so at foot, with reading creases, and with tear across width connecting lower end of split along front-edge fold with upper end of split along rear-edge fold. Contents with a few isolated spots, a few leaves with short creases across lower outer corners; lower outer corners almost throughout with shallow undulations diminishing in effect & extent from final leaf back to page 1 where hardly visible. Endpaper hinges almost completely broken. Faint owner's name with date on front pastedown. Edges of text-block age-toned and a little spotted. Contents generally clean and tight. FAIR, or excellent reading / working copy.

VG ** "John Stephen Farmer born at Bedford March 7th 1854 to Alfred Henry Farmer (born August 27th 1827 at Biggleswade, Bedfordshire), described in the census returns as a 'City Missionary,' and Pheobe [sic] Sheppard (born about 1830 at Beaford, Bedfordshire). John Stephen Farmer died 18th January 1916. His address was The Rookery, West Bergholt, Essex.
